'Lunch Time' makes solid appearances

Eight international events have screened Iranian short film ‘Lunch Time’ in October 2017.

The Iranian short film attended the Calgary International Film Festival, Canada from September 20 to October 1, 2017 and the Charlotte Film Festival held from September 22 to October 1, 2017 in the US.

The 9th annual DTLA Film Festival also screened ‘Lunch Time’ on September 22-October 2, 2017, in Los Angeles, the US.

Next hosts for the Iranian sort were the Buffalo International Film Festival in New York, the US as well as Festival Internacional de Cine Fine Arts in the Dominican Republic.

Also in October, the film was featured at the 40th edition of the Mill Valley Film Festival in the US city of San Rafael and the 61st edition of BFI London Film Festival held on October 4-15 screened ‘Lunch Time’ in the UK.

 Finally it went to the 23rd edition of James River Short Film Festival in the US on October 20-22, 2017.

The 15-minute ‘Lunch Time’ is about a high school girl who has come to the hospital to identify the body of her mother. The people in charge at the hospital would not let her into the morgue because of her young age.

Directed by Alireza Qasemi, the short has been nominated for a Palme d’Or at the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

Among the cast members of ‘Lunch Time’ are Khorshid Cheraqipour, Roya Bakhtiari, Amir Taqdiri, Peyman Naemi, Siavash Cheraqipour, Bahram Omrani, Pouria Akhavan, Mohammad Haddadi, Alireza Qasemi, Mehdi Yeganeh, and Arash Qasemi.
